Adelaide Hill and Millerground, Windermere. This is a fantastic short and easy circular route (sorry not easily for pushchairs). Park for free on the A592 at GR 404987 on OS map OL7.
You’ll see two National Trust signs. Take the path to Adelaide Hill. Up the hill to a magnificent view over the lake and towards the mountains. The Langdales look particularly stunning. Nice and easy and down the other side to the lake shore for fun throwing stones and exploring the jetties and climbing the fallen trees from Storm Desmond.
Turn right and walk along the path, with the lake on your left. Keep going until it turns right again and up the hill to the road/car, passing some lovely falls on the way up.
This walk is less than a mile but can take as long as you wish! Our kids could’ve spent all day on the shoreline!
