Brandlehow, Derwentwater
Brandlehow is an easy, low level walk, along the shores of Derwentwater in the Lake District. This mostly flat (but not pushchair friendly) circular walk is about 2.3 miles and can be started at any point on the route.

This 3 mile family walk takes in Ashness Bridge, Surprise View and Lodore Falls. With an optional visit to the delicious Mary Mount hotel and pub, on the shores of Derwentwater.
Kong Adventure is perfect for the family in wet weather (even dry!) It has a hard play area, caves, indoor climbing, ice wall, a cafe and offers outdoor experiences too. We really enjoyed the family zone where the kids played for ages in the hard play and caves whilst we had a coffee!
The views from the top of Walla Crag, at 379 metres (1243 feet), are simply stunning. And at this height, it’s another Wainwright Fell ticked off the list. Our 5 year old had no problems at all summiting this one, although it is steep in places. But it’s easy to navigate and not too far at 1.75 miles in total.
Mirehouse and Gardens, near Bassenthwaite are a fantastic place in the Lake District for a family walk and adventure! We did a 1.5 mile loop walk that also takes in the 4 adventure play areas in Mirehouse Gardens.
We had an absolutely brilliant family walk today at Latrigg, just outside of Keswick. It was wonderful for multiple reasons… free car parking, parking close to the summit, 360 degree views, glorious sunshine and snow!
Seat How Summit from Whinlatter Forest is a great family walk. 3.5 mile circular walk following easy to navigate trails. Amazing views over Derwentwater and Keswick and an adventure playground and cafe to finish!
Friar’s Crag, Keswick is a nice easy walk, offering stunning views of Derwentwater and the surrounding fells, including Catbells.
