Today we visited the Coniston Coppermine valley and admired its rugged, worked landscape, waterfalls and also explored a couple of the tunnels.
This beautiful 3.5 mile circular walk around Little Langdale takes in two amazing caves, Hodge Close and Cathedral Quarry. It’s the perfect walk for a family adventure. Don’t forget your torches!
This is a beautiful, 4.75 mile, mostly flat walk to see the Bronze Age stone circle, Long Meg, and then to explore Lacy’s Caves on the River Eden near Penrith.
Today’s walk through Borrowdale was a truly amazing family adventure! It had everything that the kids (and adults alike) loved… a cave, large boulders to clamber over, stepping stones across a river, shoreline to throw stones in, an exciting scree slope climb, toasting marshmallows on an open fire and amazing views over the Borrowdale valley and Derwentwater. This walk is definitely one our family favourites so far.
Kong Adventure is perfect for the family in wet weather (even dry!) It has a hard play area, caves, indoor climbing, ice wall, a cafe and offers outdoor experiences too. We really enjoyed the family zone where the kids played for ages in the hard play and caves whilst we had a coffee!
There is a cave about half way along Barker Scar, at Old Park Wood, near Holker in the South Lakes. Aside from the cave, there is plenty to enjoy and explore on this stretch of Morecambe Bay / River Leven estuary coastline.
Hodge Close quarry and caves is certainly an adventure, for young and old alike It offers some amazing views of its massive water filled cavern, from both the top and bottom.
We will continue our mission to find the cave at Arnside Knott. Please do let us know if you have any more information on it!
