2 mile Smithy Beck trail at Ennerdale Water, or a slightly more tricky climb to Bowness Knott viewpoint
Starting from the pay and display car park, walk round the Fish Hotel onto the path towards the lakes. Follow the path and when you get a fork, take the left path which will lead you to the lake. With the lake in front of you, turn right which will then lead you to the base of the Sour Milk Gill falls.
3.5 mile loop from Town End in Troutbeck to Brockhole Visitor Centre on the shores of Windermere
A walk up Lord’s Seat on Whitbarrow Scar, near Witherslack that includes climbing, scree slopes, caves and woods
Dob Gill has some lovely little waterfalls on the way up to Harrop Tarn, near Thirlmere. It’s an easy 2.6 mile loop walk that is well signed from the car park.
Lanty’s Tarn is a beautiful and accessible spot near Glenridding. Just beyond is the peak of Keldas, which has stunning views over Ullswater.
