Claife Heights Viewing Station (and cafe!) is such a fantastic, and family friendly place to explore. We caught the ferry across the lake, from Ferry Nab in Bowness on Windermere.
Colwith Force, Little Langdale is a beautiful, short easy walk to some amazing cascades and waterfall. Especially after heavy rainfall. The walk is less than 0.5 miles in total, there and back, and could easily be incoporated into other walks
Stanley Ghyll Force Waterfall is possibly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Lake District. Seemingly surrounded by lush green vegetation, come summer or winter, it’s a hidden gem. And perfect for a wet weather day walk.
The Wild Trail is a brilliantly fun and free 1.5 mile adventure loop through the ancient woodlands of Sizegh Castle’s grounds. There are ropes to follow, walls to climb, holes to scramble through, logs to balance on, tree stumps to jump across, a tree swing and much much more.
The free Farm Trail at Low Sizergh Barn takes you on an easy 1.75 mile circular (muddy!) walk through the ancient woodland
A brilliant, easy and exciting walk to the “fairy steps” at Beetham.
We had an absolutely brilliant family walk today at Latrigg, just outside of Keswick. It was wonderful for multiple reasons… free car parking, parking close to the summit, 360 degree views, glorious sunshine and snow!
We will continue our mission to find the cave at Arnside Knott. Please do let us know if you have any more information on it!
